Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle was idling abnormally, prompting the contact to turn off the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the lifter in cylinder #4. The contact stated that the lifter had collapsed into the engine, causing damages to the engine and camshaft. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.
