Consumer Description
Vehicle began flashing Traction Battery Warnings along with warnings to stop driving car. I had been parking car outside for two years since notification from JLR to keep car outside and away from structures. Set up appointment for next day to have car towed to dealership, and asked them to attempt the latest software upgrade, understanding that it would not solve problem, but might make the car safe to drive. That same day, received buyback letter from JLR. Called dealer, told them to just try the update, nothing else. They asked me to pay $325 to inspect car. I refused and stated I was calling Morley as indicated in received letter. Called Morley, gave them information and followed up in email with all requested documentation. Morley advised me to keep the car at the dealership as they would be handling the buyback. Informed dealership that that was the plan. A few days later, Morley indicated that they would be settling the case by paying my KBB value, despite the fact that I am in California. I hired an attorney, who contacted Morley. We heard nothing for several weeks, during which time the dealership contacted me and insist I remove my car as they had heard nothing from Morley in the prior 30 days. The dealership tried to have me pay for services I did not authorize, and had taken apart and removed the windshield wiper and grill and interior covers under hood and had not reinstalled, nor were they in the car. The car was left on their lot, which an acknowledged rodent problem, for 30 days. Morley then insisted that the attorney work directly with JLR NA. Attorney sent demand to them on April 26 , but one month later w have heard nothing. The car does not drive, and is stored outside on my driveway. 60 days in, and we have no contact from JLR, let alone a satisfactory resolution.
