Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with cam shaft and lifter failures. The contact was informed that the cam shaft and the lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased in 2020, the failure had occurred; however, the repair was covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
