NHTSA Complaint #11644074 — 2020 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2024 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and flashed on and off. There was an abnormally loud clinking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the O-ring, oil pan, gasket, drive belt, oil belt, thermostat, and long block were replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
