Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for the State Inspection and the vehicle failed the emissions test. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM); determining that the PCM was not sending the emissions information. The contact was informed that an update was required. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.
