NHTSA Complaint #11637632 — 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY

The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the failure cause was unidentifiable. The dealer informed the contact that the engine might need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the parts would not be available until March 2025. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
