Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 55 MPH, the electronic traction control failed causing the vehicle to become unstable and difficult to steer or control. Additionally, the braking system had malfunctioned, and the brake pedal was firm while depressed, and the driver was unable to immediately stop the vehicle. The driver was able to steer the vehicle from the middle lane to the shoulder and used the parking brake to slow the vehicle to an eventual stop. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. During the failure, the driver’s side rear axle and the rear driver’s side wheel studs and aftermarket lug nuts were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,664.
