The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered and jerked while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to perform as needed and the contact parked the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to an independent mechanic, and the battery was replaced. The contact was informed that if the failure reoccurred, the failure might be with the transmission clutch. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed of an undisclosed Customer Satisfaction Program however, the contact had not received the notification. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
