NHTSA Complaint #11626713 — 2019 GMC ACADIA

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that upon reaching her destination and moving the floor shifter into park(P), the message to "Please Shift to Park” was displayed. The contact became aware that the vehicle had failed to recognize that the gear shifter was in park(P). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V516000 (Power Train); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
