The contact owns a 2015 Kia Soul. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with no warning light illuminated. The contact noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was able to restart however the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Catalytic Overheating Protection Engine Control Unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
