NHTSA Complaint #11623131 — 2024 HONDA CIVIC

The steering gearbox worm wheel in my 2024 Honda Civic (VIN: [XXX] ) has malfunctioned, creating increased friction and resistance, which poses a serious safety risk by compromising my ability to steer safely. This issue, confirmed by Honda’s recall notice (NHTSA Recall Number 24V-744), could lead to loss of control, increasing the risk of an accident. Despite contacting Honda and my dealership multiple times over the past month, no repair or inspection has been performed, and I’ve been unable to get a timeline for resolution. The steering also began making an unusual noise recently, heightening my concern. Given the unresolved safety defect and the car's diminished value, I believe this vehicle qualifies as a “lemon,” and I am seeking either a replacement or relief from the loan due to the financial and safety implications.
