NHTSA Complaint #11618644 — 2015 RAM 1500

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the engine suddenly stalled, and the vehicle would not immediately restart. During the failure, the message "Service Throttle Control" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 109,000. The VIN was invalid.
