NHTSA Complaint #11616460 — 2021 JEEP WRANGLER

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 74 MPH, the vehicle vibrated violently, after which the steering wheel began to jerk from the contact’s hands, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was able to duplicate the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was experiencing a death wobble; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000.
