NHTSA Complaint #11615082 — 2014 HYUNDAI ACCENT

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000(Services Brakes, Hydraulic) was performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the ABS warning light was illuminated and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. The contact then noticed that there was smoke outside the vehicle. The contact stated that while pulling to the side of the road, another driver informed the contact that there was a fire underneath the front end of the vehicle. The other driver extinguished the fire with a big water container. There was no injury sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was awaiting to be towed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
