NHTSA Complaint #11612261 — 2017 JEEP RENEGADE

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle had suddenly experienced a loss of automotive power and reduced speeds before stalling. The failure had occurred on multiple occasions and during the failures the message "Vehicle must be in park to shift gear" had also displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or diagnose the cause of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V731000(Fuel System, Gasoline) but the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 100,000.
