NHTSA Complaint #11611783 — 2014 BMW 528I

The contact owns a 2014 BMW 528I. The contact stated that the low coolant indicator, "Engine temperature high" and "Coolant running low" messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that coolant fluid was leaking out of the engine after being added. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the auxiliary radiator, thermostat, auxiliary hose, and battery were all replaced. Despite the repair, the messages returned on the instrument panel. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V608000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.
