The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, after a visual inspection of the exterior of the vehicle, the contact became aware that the shark fin antenna cover had detached, potentially becoming a dangerous road hazard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer determined that the shark fin antenna cover had detached independently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 32,000.
