NHTSA Complaint #11606547 — 2014 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle and driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission failed to shift into gear as intended. Additionally, the RPM gauge fluctuated between 2,000 and 6,000 RPM; however, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the clutch had previously been replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the clutch needed to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
