The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The contact stated that the vehicle burned down to the frame in less than five minutes. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The contact stated that the insurance declared the vehicle total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
