NHTSA Complaint #11605108 — 2018 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to slow the vehicle, the brake pedal briefly became stiff, after which the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to stop but required increased effort. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V603000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 161,000.
