NHTSA Complaint #11601458 — 2018 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA

The fuel pump failed while driving the vehicle resulting in the car suddenly stopping while on a busy highway. We were nearly read-ended. After attempting to start the vehicle several times and witnessing several service lights go off, I called the police to have my vehicle towed and taken to the dealership. Their service department fixed the fuel pump, but charged me for the expense even though I've heard from others that this is a known issue (see [XXX] ), once resulting in an accident. I believe this should be a required recall item as it could have caused a serious accident. I would have expected this to be covered by the manufacturer.
