NHTSA Complaint #11594936 — 2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE

My partner and I were driving from Oakland, CA to Petaluma, CA on [XXX], 2024. While driving approximately 75 mph the car shut down and i had to guide it to the side of the highway. It was frightening and we were almost was hit by passing traffic. The display screen and electrical system were going haywire - turtle sign to check engine to random messages stating the car was OK to start. After about 25 minutes, the car started on its own. At the time of the incident, there was just under a half tank of gas. In the weeks since, the car has randomly shutoff and turned itself back on. A nearby Jeep dealer in San Leandro, CA indicated he has heard of similar issue with other Jeep Grand Cherokees. Having read about this I do not trust Jeep as their response was "oh this happens with the 4xe." We purchased this vehicle in August of 2023 and have approximately 6400 miles on it.
