Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while shifting the vehicle into reverse, the gear indicator failed to display the gear position. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle several times, the gear shift indicator resumed normal operation. The check engine and service engine warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
