NHTSA Complaint #11590364 — 2016 KIA SORENTO

The contact owns a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the engine was almost completely devoid of oil and that the vehicle was consuming oil abnormally quickly. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to the Product Improvement Campaign: PI1802. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,000. The VIN was not available.
