NHTSA Complaint #11589170 — 2020 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the low engine oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer but was not serviced. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where the contact was informed that the engine was running rough, and the oil pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
