NHTSA Complaint #11587460 — 2020 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Eco Sport. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the contact became aware that the engine oil pressure was falling quickly, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle during the failure. The contact was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was taken to various independent mechanics; however, the mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
