NHTSA Complaint #11586289 — 2010 HONDA ACCORD

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. The contact veered over to the side of the roadway; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed a failure with the rubber coating which caused corrosion to the driveshaft. The contact was informed that the driveshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
