NHTSA Complaint #11582593 — 2020 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. While the contact's husband was driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled with several warning lights illuminated. The contact's husband was able to steer the vehicle off to the shoulder of the highway. Due to the failure, the vehicle was initially towed to the residence. The vehicle was later towed to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm. The contact had the vehicle repaired by the dealer. Recently, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Since the repair, the contact stated that various warning lights, including the oil warning light, had appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
