Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the messaged "Power Steering" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the power steering module and steering rack were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 72,220.
