The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine consumed an excessive amount of oil; however, no repair was recommended. The contact stated that they had to add engine oil to the engine every 1,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The manufacturer advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
