Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: [XXX] (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while charging the vehicle, the message "Service Charging System" was displayed, and the vehicle stopped charging. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Glenn E. Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep (2100 E Spring St, Signal Hill, CA 90755), where the contact was informed that the failure was occurring due to a low voltage outlet; however, the contact stated that the failure had occurred while using other outlets at other locations. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and contacted both dealers to schedule a recall repair on the contact's behalf, but the dealers informed the manufacturer that they could not perform the recall repair even though the remedy part was available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 800. Parts distribution disconnect.
