NHTSA Complaint #11571220 — 2019 HONDA PILOT

The Honda Sense camera failed due to an internal fault just outside the manufacturer's warranty. Dealership was needed to replace it in order to regain function at out of pocket cost. Upon the camera failing the driver is met with 5 warning lights that the following are no longer active: LKAS, ACC, Automatic Braking\Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Headlights, and Lane Mitigation System. You have to clear each of these before you can use the main dash (including MPH). Cruise control is completely disabled. Although there is no asserted timeline for the life of the camera, research shows (and dealership sates) that this is a known issue. Reaching out to Honda's technical support team returns a somewhat blanket response stating that although campaigns exist for other issues with my VIN it is my monetary responsibility to handle this particular issue, although I was writing to the campaign department to add to the growing list of those with this particular issue in hopes of moving toward a recall, not because I expected there was one in place for this issue. For reference, Vehicle was parked when issue began.
