Consumer Description

"SECURE VEHICLE WITH PARKING BREAK" is the error msg. This is a VERY common problem with the F48 F49 2017 BMW X1. The replacement part cost around $10. It is a very small spring deep in the center console. Dealer estimates to fix it are $2500-$3500 due to the labor cost. The is a video which explains the issue and how to replace it yourself if you are able. Some post have indicated that BMWNA will pay but there is no official recall and I am not sure if it is standard practice for the Dealer to replace the problem.
