The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated, and the vehicle started losing motive power. Additionally, the engine made an abnormal ticking sound. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the warning light and the abnormal ticking sound persisted. Additionally, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH while driving to the nearby dealer. The unknown dealer diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's son-in-law. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23015 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.
