NHTSA Complaint #11561059 — 2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE

As I was approaching an intersection near the railroad track my vehicle just stopped on its own, the gear switch to Park on its own and I was unable to switch the gear back to Drive or Neutral. Messages on the screen popped up saying “Park Brake Auto Engaged Press Brake + Push Switch to Release” but that didn't worked then received another message saying "Service transmission". So basically I had to call a tow truck because my vehicle was stuck in the middle of the road and there wasn't any way to move it and thankfully it stopped about 100ft before the railroad tracks. As I was waiting for the tow truck, about 15-20 minutes later, I tried pressing the brakes and switch again and this time it worked and was able to restart the vehicle. I called the dealer to get a service appointment and I'm waiting for them to call me back. This issue came with no warnings or prior signs and it was totally unexpected.
