NHTSA Complaint #11553920 — 2022 HONDA CR-V

I was in a dedicated lane to make a left turn. There was no vehicle in front of me and no pedestrians in the crosswalk. I was coasting to the light at about 20mph or less as I could see that it was red and because I am familiar with the intersection , I knew it would not turn green immediately. At 2 to 3 car lengths back from where I was going to stop all of a sudden the car jolted to a stop. The car immediately shut down (quit running). There was no car behind me or I am sure my car would have been rear ended. I got out of the car to see if there was something under it or if I could see if something had fallen off the underside of the car. I tried to restart the car but it would not start. By that time there were 2 cars behind me waiting to turn. I got out of the car and went back to the nearest car and told the driver she needed to go around my car. I got back into my car and tried to restart it and it started. I had absolutely no warning before this happened. I did not take the car for an inspection but I did call the salesman (as soon as I could). He said it might be because of the forward collision system and suggested that I could turn it off. He said that the system is very sensitive and even a leaf might set it off. Even though it was in October, it was not a windy day and most trees in my area had not started losing their leaves. I bought this car because of the safety equipment as I am [XXX] and in good health, but I am a practical person. I did tell the salesman that if there is another incident that I would be coming in for an inspection. I have been anxious about this and have learned others have had this problem.
