NHTSA Complaint #11549648 — 2012 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after starting the engine, a rattling noise was present coming from the engine compartment and the vehicle would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the engine cam phasers and engine timing system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 150,000.
