NHTSA Complaint #11548199 — 2022 FORD BRONCO

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V825000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the software update to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact's daughter had been in reverse (R) and reversing in a parking lot at approximately 2 MPH, she crashed into another parked vehicle with her rear bumper. The contact's vehicle had minimal damage on the rear bumper. The other vehicle had damage to the passenger side taillight and to the rear passenger panel which had been dented by the contact's bumper. The police were called, the other vehicle was not occupied at the time of the crash, and a report had been written. The contact's daughter stated that the camera was not functional at the time of the crash. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
