NHTSA Complaint #11542864 — 2014 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into reverse. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was included in the Customer Satisfaction Program Campaign Number: 14M02 however, the parts to perform the repair were on backorder. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
