NHTSA Complaint #11538853 — 2017 FORD MUSTANG

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the front passenger’s side door opened independently. The contact stated the door ajar warning light was illuminated. The contact experienced the failure a second time on August 12, 2023, three times in a row. The contact called and made the local dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V168000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
