Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while his sister was driving the vehicle, while at a stop light, the engine continued to rev with the RPMs increasing. The brake pedal was being pressed during the failure. The vehicle then experienced unintended acceleration and drove into the intersection. The contact stated that the failure had occurred later the same day for a second time. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 175,800.
