The contact stated that the instrument panel went blank. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred. Additionally, the vehicle was hesitating and jerking while driving at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine knock sensor software needed to be updated. The vehicle had been repaired. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
