NHTSA Complaint #11532842 — 2014 RAM 1500

On two occasions the power steering stopped working and I had to physically control the truck and control the direction it was headed. The first time I was headed home and had to muscle the steering to get home. The second time as I was headed up the driveway to leave to go to the doctor's office the steering got hard to move so I parked the truck and took my other vehicle. When the power steering stops working a warning light displays on the control panel. I found on the internet that this issue is a known issue by the manufacture since at least 2021. It states that the EPS (electric power steering) module is at fault. I found out today that the module is located inside the rack and pinion. It is now July 17, 2023, and this problem caught me completely by surprise. However, it comes with a whole host of new issues, which can manifest more suddenly and catastrophically (at speed).
