The contact stated while stopped at a stop light, the contact attempted to accelerate, and the vehicle lunged forward with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started jerking. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated and then started operating normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that the transmission might have failed; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 50,000.
