NHTSA Complaint #11521688 — 2016 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that after his wife had started the vehicle, she had to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard to shift out of park(P). The brake fluid warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the brake fluid had leaked completely on the floor. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing both front brake lines to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
