NHTSA Complaint #11520571 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon reversing out of the driveway, several warning lights including the check engine and low coolant warning lights appeared on the instrument panel before the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where the mechanic discovered a crack in the engine short block. The mechanic informed the contact of an unknown TSB related to the model vehicle; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 43,262.
