Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that on various occasions after starting the vehicle, a loud rattling noise was heard. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was advised to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
