Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the steering wheel became firm, and the power steering failure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer replaced the power steering control module, the diagnostic trouble codes was reset, and the power steering assist module was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering) and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.
