NHTSA Complaint #11519212 — 2021 WINNEBAGO ADVENTURER

The Ford F53 Chassis built for motorhomes has a Ford Factory Advance Trac Warning System. When this system detects a fault the chassis looses Cruise Control, Hill Assists Feature, and Anti Lock Brakes. The Ford Pass App records the faults; however once the Ignition is turned off it erases the fault from the onboard computer. Ford has issue a TSB SSM51210 to reprogram the ASB Module only when the code is active. As stated before once the ignition is turned off the codes are erased. The problem with that scenario is that there are very limited dealerships and companies that will work or have the capability of diagnosis of the system. The safety problem comes when transiting a step grade and Hill Assist and ABS becomes inactive or during wet/icy conditions when Anti Lock Brake System become unexpected in active with no warning. 1.
