NHTSA Complaint #11517916 — 2018 NISSAN ROGUE SPORT

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport. The contact stated that since she had taken ownership of the vehicle from the dealer, the ignition key was loose and required to be pressed and turned several times forcefully inside the ignition switch to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System), which she related to the failure. The local dealer was contacted and replaced the ignition key with a non-folding key. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the non-folding key she had received from the dealer was a temporary repair. The contact stated that she was unsatisfied with the interim repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
